Don't forget it
It is easy to forget that you subscribed to a service or application. If you do nothing, it will sit in the background happily charging you each time the subscription date rolls in. This may not be a problem but if it is, it is time to cancel.
How to cancel a subscription
Settings / Your Name / Subscriptions / Active
You can sort the Active subscriptions by App name, Price, Next Payment Date.
Click on an App you feel is not for you and cancel it. Simple.
The free offer
Quite often apps offer you a trial period of a week, month etc. We think the best time to cancel the subscription, is on the same day you sign up. That way you cannot forget. If during the offer period you change your mind because you love it so much, you can choose to restart the subscription anyway.
What if I really like the app?
If you find that an app is really good and is making your life better don't cancel it. Paying the subscription helps the developer to continue making improvements. Supporting the apps you love is a good thing. However, if you can't really afford it, it may be better to do without it until you are debt free.
What if someone in your family is using the app
Family sharing of Apple Apps is very useful. For example with the debt freedom app you may have chosen to subscribe to encourage or help someone else in your family to get out of and stay out of debt. If this is the situation you may want to do the right thing and keep it going.
If it is something you can't afford then have a chat with the sharer and ask them to take on the subscription cost.
